Day 13. March 13th.
Five years ago, March 13, 2020, was the day that in-person school closed.
Five years ago was the day I left on a hut trip, not knowing what the state of the world would be upon my return, let alone the status of my classroom.
Five years ago, today was seeped in uncertainty and fear.
Iād totally forgotten about March 13th being The Day. After a colleague reminded me this afternoon, I shot straight down Memory Lane in reflection and wonder. Weāve learned so much. Our school community has adjusted and researched and pioneered and connected and persevered, and we did it together.
This March 13th was a full day of student-led reflective conferences up at school.
Quite fitting, donāt you think?
See ya tomorrow. š
wow. How quickly I forget.
This writing takes me back to the shock of those early moments and days. The crazy fear and disorientation. The shocking shift in teaching as we knew it before Zoom and online versions of school. š«
Golden line: āOur school community has adjusted and researched and pioneered and connected and persevered, and we did it togetherā¦ā
