I found this sticky note on my desk the other day:

I love it. She’s asking for direct and targeted book shopping support to further her love of a series she just discovered.
(Side note…I’m so glad I didn’t have to check the NO box!)
(Double side note…She ended up finding a whole Humphrey stash of books, so she fared much better than I did!)
That’s ONE glimpse into the communication style, the heart, and soul of this particular (and awesome!) second grader.
Here’s another:

Meh. What are you gonna do? You can’t win ‘em all. 🤷🏻♀️🥰
How did we have literacy before Post-It Notes, I wonder? I love the communication style it makes for kids – not a daunting page. Just a space for what’s on their mind at the moment.
Nothing like promoting book love early on. Thanks for your work with children.

That’s such great insight – not a daunting page. Totally. Just jot down your thoughts and move right on with your day…regardless of whether or not you are happy with your teacher at that very moment! 😂😂😂
