Yep.
You’re right.
You didn’t miss it.
I didn’t write yesterday.
GASP!
I know. Shocking.
Past me would have been fretting and rushing and stressing and guilt-tripping all the way to 10pm last night. (That midnight East Coast deadline comes up fast in the Rockies!)
But yesterday’s me? No worries in sight. I’ll admit, I had my side eye on the clock between 9:40pm and 9:55pm, wondering a teensy bit if I could pull it off. However, as I looked around the cozy warm living room filled with dear friends, babies, and pooches, my wonder faded into contented soft smiles. Shifting my focus into the present moment was the only logical next step.
Plus, how could I pull myself away from that laughter, those memories, or those connections?
You’re right.
I couldn’t.
So I didn’t.
Yesterday’s presence made for today’s full heart and yesterday’s skipped slice fueled today’s completed slice, so I’m just gonna call it good.

This, 100% this. Glad you took time for yourself in an intentional way, and also were aware of those guilty feelings that sneak in but don’t fuel us. Keep on trucking! 🙂

Sometimes real life supersedes the online one, and it gave you a lovely slice for today. And the clouds in that photo are impressive. I hope they weren’t predicting snow.

What a gorgeous photograph to accompany your slice. Your last line is masterful in how it flips from yesterday to today and bounces back again, propelling forward.
