Here’s what I learned… (#sol25 Day 17/31)

Holy schneikies.

Has there ever, in the history of Mondays, been a Monday that has Mondayed harder than this Monday? Even (as I have a sneaky suspicion that I typed similar words last week) harder than last Monday?!

Eeesh.

Hopefully you experienced a smoother day today than I.

Of course, it still happened – I still learned things today. Why? Because I’m a human and that’s what we do. Yep, even in the midst of the Monday storm surge, there’s knowledge to be found.

Here is a list of some of the nuggets that snuck through my overwhelm with the world today and actually taught me a little thing or two:

  • Did you know that if you co-create a checklist with a reluctant writer so that they will have their own steps to follow during independent writing, and you spend 30 minutes crafting this fabulous piece of reference magic, and then you put it through the laminator so it can be checked off and erased daily by said writer, and then the paper comes out the other side TOTALLY FREAKING BLANK, then you’ve probably used erasable pen?
  • Did you also know that heat erases erasable pen?!
  • Did you know that, apparently, it’s now commonplace knowledge that kids have their own personal leprechauns that wreck havoc in their homes the night before St Patrick’s Day?
  • Did you also know that kids then spend hours creating Leprechaun Traps for their above-mentioned green creatures of mystical intrigue?
  • Lastly, please receive this final Monday tidbit of info straight from a second grader: “Turtles don’t even do exercises. And they live to 200!”

Hope you learned a little something today!

See ya tomorrow. 📝

  1. I did NOT know that about erasable pens! Thank you for sharing that knowledge before I could magically erase something important. And I had not known about personal leprechaun traps until this morning. Could it be a new thing? Thanks for making me smile on this Monday-est of Mondays. Here’s hoping that tomorrow is more Tuesday-ish than today was!

  2. So freakin funny! We experience that same chaos with the Leprechauns here! The setting the trap business is getting crazy — one first grader was tired today because “I was up late setting up my trap”. And, holy schneikies is one of my favorite sayings — GREAT LEAD!

  3. Oh wow, that does sound like a Monday for sure. I appreciate your sense of homour through it all (though I am sure that came after?). I hope tomorrow there is a little more calm for you.
