After that final week at school of talking and meetings and talking and laughing and talking and meetings and talking and crying and talking and reading stories and talking and asking questions and talking, do you know how I spent my first day of Spring Break?
Without saying a single word out loud.
Silence. In my house, by myself.
Itβs been glorious.
I read in bed. I checked in with my favorite puzzles while I sipped my still-hot coffee. I cleaned out my desk. I read some more. I feigned internal surprise when I woke up from an unplanned nap (but, really, who are we kidding – I knew there was at least an 82% chance, +/- 18%, of falling asleep this afternoon!) I made some food and now Iβm gearing up to read a little more.
Iβd say (but only in my mind because, shhhhhhh!) that my break is off to a great start!
See ya tomorrow. π

A much deserved quiet.

I love the contrast between your first paragraph and the rest of your post. The way you’ve written the description of your day makes it not only sound, but also feel restful. Glad your break is off to a good start!
