It’s a good thing that I work at a school that incorporates the term, “Lifelong learner” into just about everything we do.
Yes, we nurture and expect this from our students, but you know what? It’s really good to expect it from ourselves.
Take our current global landscape of grand sweeping uncertainty… ya know… just for example…
If I wasn’t a lifelong learner, I would not have figured out Zoom staff meetings.
If I wasn’t a lifelong learner, I would not have set up Zoom student-led conferences.
If I wasn’t a lifelong learner, I would not have been picturing the length of a ski in between me and any other nearby humans.
If I wasn’t a lifelong learner, I would not be quietly but steadily amassing a list of distance learning resources that I may or may not have to use to teach first and second graders.
If I wasn’t a lifelong learner, today would have been much harder than it actually was. And tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day would be exponentially more difficult.
But, you know what? I’ve been at the Aspen Community School for seventeen years, and you know what I am? To my very core?
A lifelong learner.

Dead on !!!

Wow, what a positive spin! I used Zoom for the first time with some fellow colleagues and you are right- if I weren’t a lifelong learner, I would have given up. Love the idea of using it with student conferences!

Try it out! The kids are pretty psyched for video conferences. ❤️
