What does it mean when your forearms cramp up from clearing nine inches of heavy dense snow off of your windshield?
It’s Spring!
What does it mean when that heavy dense snow bends the branches way over and you have to walk through a perilous tree tunnel to gather the chickens’ eggs, even when you’re home after skiing and most of the ground snow has melted away?
It’s Spring!
What does it mean when there’s a foot of snow on the mountain but it’s not at all crowded?
It’s Spring!
What does it mean when your family starts arriving for fun skiing times?
It’s Spring!
What does it mean when you actually have the time and energy to bounce and glide and whoop through the aforementioned snow poofs all day, come home and write about it, take the pooch for a walk, and still enjoy the afternoon as you remember that it’s Monday and you’re on break and not at school?
Yep.
You guessed it.
It’s Spring!
I’ve read a few posts today about this snow/ice and Spring! I love the addition of pictures to this fun piece.

What a fun post! I love how you posted the title “It’s spring!” and then just underneath, the photo of the heavy snow. The whole back and forth between not-really spring, and “It’s spring!” was great…as was your shift to true signs of spring.

Great poem. Great idea to pose the current spring situation as questions.

Ha! This made me smile. Spring is reluctantly digging in it’s heels, yes? Still, the snow looks gorgeous. Your format was funny, but could have a darker edge to it if you wanted. A great slice!
